Adherium wins “Most Innovative Hi-Tech Hardware Product Award” at the 2017 NZ High Tech Awards
Adherium have come out on top at this year’s Hi-Tech Awards, claiming the coveted Hi-Tech Hardware Product award. Over 900 people attended the awards ceremony, which celebrates the successes of New Zealand hi-tech companies across 13 categories.
In selecting Adherium as Most Innovative Hi-Tech Hardware Product, the international judges said, “Adherium has developed a deceptively simple asthma drug delivery system which elegantly embeds multiple sensor technologies into a small device, and combines it with smart applications and cloud data services to help people with asthma and other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseasess. It gives health care providers and pharmaceutical companies access to a rich database of medication use that can be used for continuous improvement and application to achieve better health outcomes. The Adherium platform has enormous potential, not only with asthma and COPD medication, but also many other medication regimes. The judges were impressed by the completeness of Adherium’s vision, their ability to execute that strategy, the success they have already achieved, and their well-considered global growth strategy.”
The Hi-Tech Awards judges, said the calibre of this year’s entrants was at all-time high, making the job of selecting winners exceedingly challenging for the more than 50 local and international judges who assessed entrants across the 13 award categories.
The award was received by Founder & Group CEO, Garth Sutherland, who said. “We’re so honoured to be here tonight, and grateful to be the recipient of this NZ Hi-Tech award……. I would like to thank our brilliant and truly outstanding team at Adherium because we wouldn’t be here without them……. Our work is far from over, but what we’ve accomplished together has made a difference to thousands of people’s lives. On Monday, we’ll roll up our sleeves and continue this journey with more dedication than ever.” Garth went on to dedicate the award to the patients around the world that the award-winning Smartinhaler™ was invented to help.
